Seeing the countless Mooncake boxes discarded during the Mid-Autumn Festival, lighting designer Mingshi had the idea to collect these empty boxes and create an installation in the shape of a miniature city, a festive metaphor for a Cantonese city where gastronomy is ever-present. Under the banner of recycling, the installation stacks the boxes in the style of Boltanski and animates them with light pathways, blending references from traditional melodies to Steve Reich.
